imaginary beings
“I feel like an Octopus, my Being has eight arms that expand into different horizons. Sometimes, I feel lost in my expanded universe, but in fact, with each shrink or inspiration, I bring inside myself a little of each experience that builds me.”
IMAGINARY BEINGS
The imaginary beings emerged from mini sculptures that bear the marks of my hands and crooked nails very colorful.
The nail is the poetic object of personal expression, within my aesthetic language. The marks left on the mass of papier-mâché or resin or clay or aluminum, are organic shapes that refer to surreal animals with which I invite the viewer to enter abyssal fantastic worlds or_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ from elsewhere in the universe.
Organic shapes are stuck, nailed by the nails, bringing the sensation of penetration, violence and oppression, but antagonistically, they are transformed with humor and joy, as a form of resilience to life, as the marks of the hands demonstrate the resistance force .
The result is crazy shapes that do not follow the parameters of reality or of an academic art and much less conceptual, but it is formalistic, are extremely colorful with exaggerated and intriguing humor. It has references in surrealism, especially in Juan Miró. Another reference is the artist Niki Sant Phalle. They ask questions about what are in a world where everything is easily accepted or intellectually directed. They end up leading the viewer to create their own stories, use their imagination and experience creativity. It is an audacious act, as they propose that the spectator has his own reading, according to his personal stories and cultures.
When asked: What is this? The answer is: “ Whatever you want....!!! You have the freedom to imagine, think, create your own fantasies... "
It is an invitation the freedom to think, imagine what you wish, want, is libertarian.
I work macro and micro spaces, with different materials and techniques, I contemplate diversity, I have no barriers or borders, I enter different artistic territories, without challenging prejudices and creating a colorful and organic aesthetic.
The Imaginary Beings currently expanded and created voice, movement, life, through animation, video, performances and puppetry, creating other worlds, surreal stories and fantastic and synesthetic experiences, often using the black light.
I invite the public to participate in the performances to experience art, to become sensitized, to immerse themselves in another reality or imaginary dimension, become co-creators of the work, influence it, of my art education, environmental education and art therapy work, where I bring art to everyone, students, clients, patients and society's outcasts, as appropriation and recognition of the act of creating, dreaming, become a more sensitive and human being. It is audacious because of the possibility of renewing established standards.
Imaginary Beings transit in micro and macro cosmic spaces and have references to microorganisms or beings from other worlds.
Entering reflections on ecology, science and contemporary physics, on the empty spaces, the article e questions about the existence of extraterrestrial beings.
The freedom to express is, for me, a political position of Ser e Viver, suggesting a free world without oppression. My art is libertarian and anarchist.
